The research behind this project explores the potential of personalizing Tesla Bots by integrating customizable facial features, inspired by the simplicity of creating emojis. I aimed to showcase a vision of a seamless user experience where anyone can design their dream robot with ease, emphasizing accessibility, realism, and advanced materials to mimic human-like aesthetics. This innovative approach reimagines how we interact with technology, making it both personal and intuitive.
The project’s design focuses on creating an intuitive and clean user interface, simplifying and creating a seamless process for personalizing the Tesla Bot. Ensuring ease of use increases the product’s accessibility for all generations. The aim was to bridge the gap between technology and individuality, making the design process easy and inspiring."
Once the idea took shape, I moved on to crafting the visual elements. The initial step in the interface involves selecting the core facial features of the robot. These are, in essence, pre-designed templates that form the foundation for subsequent customization. It might also take the form of a computer-generated mesh, and we would then wait for the rendering of our simulation to complete.
This is an illustration of what a small idea, in this case, a concept for an app to customize the robots we order, can blossom into – a glimpse into a potential future where personalization is at the heart of our technological interactions.
Undoubtedly, the future of robots should be accessible to all generations. I wanted to emphasize the factor of realism in my design. I am pretty sure that the world will eventually embrace materials like silicone, latex, or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for surface applications. These advanced materials will find their purpose and excel in mimicking human skin with remarkable precision.
